Rural Hospital Selects Azalea Health for Fully Integrated EHR and RCM Solution

March 6, 2018 – Las Vegas, NV Azalea Health, a leading provider of fully-integrated web-based healthcare solutions and services, announced today that they were selected by Kansas-based Ashland Health Center, a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and medical system, for their electronic health record (EHR) and revenue cycle management (RCM) billing solutions.

Based on a 2016 study by Chartis Group and iVantage Health Analytics, about 41 percent of rural facilities operated with negative margins in 2016. As a consequence, many hospitals are seeking new technology solutions to reverse this trend.

Ashland Health Center will leverage the complete Azalea inpatient and outpatient EHR and RCM platform to increase workflow efficiencies, drive utilization of the EHR, and improve profitability of the hospital. In the first month of using one of the Azalea modules for its payroll, the CAH has already realized a 66 percent reduction in the time it takes to complete payroll.

“As a critical access hospital, having a fully integrated EHR and RCM – with the added capability of integrated telehealth and mobile capabilities – we’re in a better position to tighten our operations and enhance the ways we can serve our patient community,” said Michael Mages, CEO of Ashland Health Center. “Ashland Health Center is looking to enhance our patient experience; and Azalea’s solutions enable us to do just that.”

As part of the RCM engagement, Azalea Health will provide claim processing, payment posting, denials management and A/R follow up. Prior to the selection, Azalea Health billing experts completed an RCM gap analysis for Ashland Health Center to review current revenue cycle operational and clinical workflows, and to provide an analysis of areas for improvement and remediation.

“As the market continues to face greater pressure, Critical Access Hospitals, like Ashland Health Center, are looking for ways to drive revenue and improve their bottom line,” said Baha Zeidan, CEO and co-founder of Azalea Health. “By providing an innovative platform that supports both clinics and hospitals,  Azalea will help Ashland streamline workflows, reduce costs and increase revenue collections.”

Ashland Health Center is located in Ashland Kansas serving the healthcare needs of Clark county and surrounding areas.

Azalea will be discussing its inpatient and ambulatory EHR and RCM services at HIMSS 2018, May 6-8, in its booth, #3261.
