Cloud-Based EHR and Billing for Rural and Specialty Care

Change is scary for a CEO. You don’t want to mess things up that are going well. One of those is revenue cycle. And I can say we didn’t skip a beat transitioning to Azalea Health.

It was an easier transition than we could have anticipated. There were, and are, horror stories of changed EHRs and not being able to get claims out for six months from other CEOS and CFOs. We were pleasantly surprised that we were still able to turn over claims.

Having worked with dozens of critical access hospitals and EHR vendors, over the last 17 years, Azalea is the only one that truly understands the need of critical access hospitals. The truth is larger IT vendors aren’t collecting payments at the level needed to sustain small hospitals like ours. This threatens the access to care that rural communities depend on.

It frees me up to pay more attention to what the patient is saying, because I’m not trying to write something down while they’re talking. Now, my note is done before I move on to the next patient. I’m not trying to sit at the end of the night trying to remember, what did Mrs. Jones say or what does she have, if I don’t get it entered during the visit.

The cloud based solution is great because we don’t have easy access to IT support internally. It would cost us at least 0.5 FTE to manage an on-site EHR system.

We needed software that would be able to optimize our entire front to back end office functions inclusive of charting. We reviewed other comparable software before making our final choice. Our practice manager consultant who assisted in this process really helped us in making the decision by demonstrating how Azalea Health platform would be able to meet our growing needs. This platform is truly the best software for start up practices.

It was just amazing how much attention we had, how quickly they responded to our questions. If we had a question, it was immediately answered. And with AI charting, I literally opened it up, did two mock patients, and then started treating patients the next day.

The clinical might be the best system out there. Nurses absolutely love it and a contract nurse picked up on it very fast.

I would say to another provider that if you want to be able to provide more precise notes, better patient care, better follow up, and just overall better service to the clinic and the patient, there’s no better way to do it.

Since implementing ambient charting, I’ve reduced the strain on my hands and saved hours each day. The accuracy and efficiency of the ambient charting system have improved my productivity and allowed me to focus more on patient care.
