Azalea Completes SOC 2 Type 2 Certification
Azalea is excited to announce that we have completed our SOC 2 Type 2 certification!
What are the advantages of getting SOC 2 Type 2 certification?
It gives a detailed and ongoing evaluation of an organization’s security controls and processes over a specific period. In our case, we chose to analyze it for six months. Type 2 lets our customers know that controls are designed well and also shows that they work consistently and reliably, which helps build trust and transparency. It also helps meet different rules like GDPR, HIPAA, or standards specific to the industry. In short, it shows how we’re actively working to go above and beyond to protect our customers’ data.
What’s the difference between Type 1 and Type 2?
So what’s real difference between Type 1 and Type 2? Is Type 2 really worth it? SOC 2 Type 1 is like a snapshot of an organization’s control design. During the Type 1 process, a company doesn’t actually test their security controls. The report just confirms that an org has security measures in place. SOC 2 Type 2, on the other hand, checks how well those controls are designed and working over a period time. So, we’re making sure our customers know that our security measures have been tested and are proven effective. So basically, Type 1 says a company has security controls, and Type 2 verifies that the controls actually work.
