Rural health clinics increase revenue and reduce workload through CCM program

In January of 2018, CMS adjusted the CCM CPT code from 99490 to G0511, increasing the national reimbursement of roughly $42 per patient per month to $62.18 for practices that are designated as a Rural Health Clinic (RHC). This provides a new source of bottom line revenue, crucial given the high rate of rural hospitals and clinics closing in recent years.
RHCs who participate in ChartSpan’s CCM services can expect a net profit of nearly 55%. Last year alone, ChartSpan saved enrolled CCM patients nearly $6.5M in out-of-pocket costs.
The ChartSpan / Azalea partnership also offers mutual rural clients a turn-key, managed compliance service, which can help practices increase their MIPS score and reimbursements for subsequent years. The seamless integration of platforms allows for bi-directional exchange of clinical and billing data, as well as rapid onboarding, charting, and transparent reporting.
