AHI donates healthcare software to Wiregrass Georgia Technical College
Azalea Health Innovations provides Wiregrass Georgia Technical College with practice management system, Azalea PM and electronic health records system, Azalea EHR.
Wiregrass Georgia Technical College (WGT) began using Azalea Health Innovations, Azalea PM in 2010 in several Health Information Technology (HIT) program courses. Through Azalea PM, courses such as Introduction to HIT and Coding and Classification (CPT/HCPCS) now enable students to gain actual experience working in a practice management system. Working with Azalea PM allows students to hone their HIT skills and utilize their hands-on training upon entering the workforce. All courses are offered through the Valdosta, GA campus and service all locations.
AHI initiated the partnership with WGT and offered to provide their HIT Department with Azalea PM system. According to Susan Jackson, Health Information Technology Program Coordinator of WGT, “AHI was willing to work with us and train us. They allow our students to work with their product. Having that hands-on experience with software is a benefit for the student in training as well as for the future employer.”
AHI Client Relations Team will begin training WGT instructors on the electronic health records system, Azalea EHR, in mid September of 2012. An electronic health records system is a collection of electronic health information that is capable of being shared across different healthcare settings and includes a range of data, medical history, and billing information. Students of the HIT Department at WGT will have the ability to schedule hypothetical patients, create medical encounters, and understand how the financial aspect of a practice functions through the use of Azalea EHR.
