Valdosta > Azalea Health Announces Second Annual Hackathon

 

Set for February 28, Azalea Health, in cooperation with Valdosta State University and Wiregrass Technical College, will be hosting the area’s second annual hackathon.

 

February 13, 2015 — Valdosta, GA — Azalea Health, a leading provider of cloud-based healthcare solutions and services, announces that it is sponsoring the second annual Azalea Health Hackathon on February 28, 2014 at Valdosta State University. The purpose of the hackathon is to connect and recruit local development talent, and for participants to create new and innovative applications which will potentially be used in the healthcare industry.

The hackathon is open to participants who are currently enrolled as students who have an interest in computer science, engineering, or computer design. They must physically the event. All demos must be developed during the 8-hour time period.

“This Hackathon is a technological trend that will help foster and attract programmers and software engineers to our industry,” says Dan Henry, CIO of Azalea Health. “Last year was a big success. We are excited by the opportunity to engage our local talent.”

Azalea Health is awarding $1,000 to the first place winning team, $500 to the second place, and $250 for third place. The teams will have approximately eight hours to develop their application. Each team will present their ideas and innovations to a panel of judges who will evaluate and decide the winners. Refreshments will be catered by Azalea Health and will be available for the teams during the eight-hour event.
