SunLink Health Systems, Inc. Signs Agreement with Azalea Health Innovations, Inc. to Implement Electronic Health Records System, Azalea EHR
Valdosta, GA, November 20, 2012 — SunLink Health Systems, Inc. (SunLink) has purchased Azalea Health Innovations, Inc. (AHI) electronic health records system, Azalea EHR for implementation throughout its subsidiary physician clinics.
In October of 2011, SunLink signed an initial agreement to begin the utilization of AHI’s practice management system, Azalea PM. According to Jack Spurr, Vice President of Hospital Financial Operations,“Azalea PM was chosen because it accommodated Rural Health Clinic billing and had a “hard close” that is needed for a publicly traded company. Other practice management systems that were evaluated did not have these functions.”
After experiencing the successful implementation of Azalea PM in multiple clinic locations and physician offices, Mr. Spurr said “We teamed with selected employed physicians who are sophisticated computer users to look at multiple solutions. We decided that Azalea EHR is a robust and effective quality patient care system offered at a reasonable price and return on investment. We look forward to assisting our physicians, extenders and staff through our partnership with AHI.” SunLink training and implementation of Azalea EHR will begin in early December of 2012. “SunLink chose the cloud-based Azalea EHR in part because it is a user friendly system.” says Spurr.
