Progressive Therapeutics Case Study
The importance of Teleheath Security
About Progressive Therapeutics
ogressive Therapeutics in Framingham, Massachusetts, provides psychiatric care for patients in the greater Metrowest area of the Bay State. It has nine licensed mental health professionals on staff, all committed to providing thorough delivery of psychiatric care based on the latest research.
The practice was an early adopter of telehealth back in 2010, implementing it as a way to care for people unable to attend in-person sessions. At first, caregivers were using WebEx and Google Hangouts. These apps got the job done, but between the EHR and the video call itself, clinic staff had to juggle multiple windows- to say the least, it was not a smooth operation, nor was it HIPAA-compliant. Quickly, they began their journey to find a telehealth solution that was secure, integrated, and easy to use.
Their Journey To a Secure Platform
Progressive Therapeutics found vendor Azalea Health, which offered a proposal for an EHR solution that came fully integrated with telehealth.
Azalea’s cloud-based, integrated EHR offered a convenient web solution to their problems, along with the cost-effective elimination of on-premises IT management. But most importantly, the integration meant that the telehealth would be just as HIPAA-compliant as the EHR.
More secure and easier to use, Progressive Therapeutics was able to utilize Azalea’s telehealth fully during the Covid-19 crisis, and to this day has not had a single security lapse or data breach with Azalea Health’s software.
