Azalea Health Earns ONC 21st Century Cures Certification

ATLANTA–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Azalea Health, a leading provider of fully-integrated cloud-based healthcare IT solutions and services, announced that its Chart-Access (hospital), and ambulatory electronic health record (EHR) solutions are now 2015 Edition Cures Update Certified by the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology (ONC-HIT).

“This certification advances Azalea’s mission to use technology to help underserved healthcare providers improve patient care and profitability”

The 21st Century Cures Act (Cures Act) was introduced to help enhance the flow of patient data to achieve better patient health outcomes. The changes brought about by this legislation strive to help to foster digital and virtual care innovations. With the Cures Act, patients will be able to more easily access their healthcare data and have a better picture of their overall health. In addition, patients can choose to share their information with other third-party providers, which can improve overall care.

While there are many requirements underneath the Cures Act, the most notable are the U.S. Core Data for Interoperability (USCDI) and the requirements for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) API. Both greatly impact the way and speed at which providers and third parties can exchange patient data. Many of these USCDI elements are the basis for the resources needed to fully exchange healthcare data.

These elements are captured in Azalea’s EHR when users enter the information in the patient record and transmit by its FHIR API. FHIR is an interoperability standard for exchanging healthcare information between anyone involved in the healthcare ecosystem.

Azalea’s EHR solutions are certified to meet the requirements of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) guidelines and give providers the correct tools, data points, and workflows to ensure secure, and seamless patient care.

“At Azalea, we prioritize improved patient health care and provider profitability,” said Baha Zeidan, CEO of Azalea Health. “Our provider-first platform balances the financial, operational, and clinical sides of care while emphasizing patient relationships and future opportunities for growth. We are proud to be certified with the IT process that facilitates and improves the care journey for both patients and providers, and we’re committed to enhancing the patient experience and health outcomes.”

“This certification advances Azalea’s mission to use technology to help underserved healthcare providers improve patient care and profitability,” said Brian Kenah, CTO of Azalea. “It symbolizes our dedication to innovation and our commitment to deliver a simplified, seamless and secure experience for our customers and their patients. This certification is just one of many updates to our platform that will facilitate better patient care and we look forward to what is to come in 2023 for Azalea’s solutions.”

This Health IT Module is 2015 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
