Azalea Health Customers Successfully Receiving Payments Under ICD-10

Atlanta, Ga (October 9, 2015) – On October 1, the healthcare industry held its collective breath as ICD-10 went into effect. Just one week later, practices using Azalea Health’s electronic health record (EHR) have received reimbursement payments from multiple payers.

“We are very pleased to already have claims, with ICD-10 codes included, being paid by multiple payers,” said Matt Harrison, MBA, Practice Administrator for Griner Medical Group in Valdosta, GA. “With Azalea, the transition over to ICD-10 has thankfully been a smooth process for our practice. We are grateful for Azalea’s revenue cycle performance support as well as dedication to their customers’ success and overall financial health.”

Azalea Health committed extensive resources to ensure its software and customers were ready for ICD-10. The company created a robust ICD-10 search tool that includes descriptions of the code as well as a “crosswalk” that allows a user to input an ICD-9 code and receive a report with the corresponding ICD-10 codes.

“Having our customers’ ICD-10 claims already paid by multiple payers within one week of the ICD-10 implementation date is a testament to Azalea’s commitment to navigating our customers and partners through the future of healthcare,” said Baha Zeidan, CEO of Azalea Health. “The entire Azalea team takes great pride in creating a culture of innovation as well as industry leadership.”

It has been predicted that the transition to ICD-10, which expanded code sets from 13,000 to approximately 68,000, will have a significant impact on physician practices, payers and vendors. These coding changes affect virtually every aspect of patient records including medical coding operations, software systems, reporting, administration, registration and more.

To help prepare its customers and others in the medical community, Azalea Health created an “ICD-10 Command Center” that provides a wide range of information and resources. The company proudly announced that its first customer received payments from two different payers via Twitter at 9:34 AM on October 8th.
