New Features in Praxis EMR 5.0
-Datum
A major improvement to our software is the introduction of DATUM, which will allow you to embed discrete data within free text.
DATUM allows you to use your own words when documenting your work, while enabling you, and the rest of the world, to obtain discrete data required for analysis, flowcharting, query and interoperability.
-The New Praxis Dataminer
This new feature will allow anyone with minimal training in SQL Language programming to query your Praxis database. Furthermore, developed queries can be shared with other clinics that use Praxis.
-PraxCoder(tm)
This feature allows for automatic “Level of Service” advice and documentation.
-Laboratory References
The system will track any orders, including labs, and link the results with the original order.
-E-Prescribing
This feature allows your prescriptions to be transmitted to the pharmacy of your choice electronically. It interfaces with Surescript™, which currently holds the monopoly on the American market in e-prescribing.
-New Vaccination Module
Praxis 5 includes a module for vaccines that meets all requirements, including the new requirements for interoperability, Pediatrics, and Family Practice.
-External Hyperlinking
Praxis 5 allows you to hyperlink any document existing outside of Praxis for instant access and future review.
Call or email us at Azalea Health Innovations to schedule a Praxis EMR demo.

Tax Incentives for Purchasing EMR and Computer Equipment Before End of Year
The Economic Stimulus Act of 2008 included special provisions for Section 179, and greatly increased the limits on how much businesses can deduct. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 extended those provisions until this year’s end. Section 179 allows small and medium size businesses to deduct the full amount of equipment purchases including computers and software in the first year up to $250,000 for tax year 2009.
Beginning in 2011, physicians are eligible to receive up to $44,000 per provider spread over 5 years in Medicare reimbursements for the adoption of a qualified EMR system. The government will have established “meaningful use” criteria by the end of 2009. Healthcare providers will need to meet this criteria to qualify for reimbursements. Now is the time to act for physician practices in EMR adoption to allow time for proper training of clinical and administrative staff before 2011 when meaningful use criteria and reimbursements will go in to effect.
Through our partner financing vendors, Azalea Health Innovations can offer deferred $1 buyout capital leasing options so lease payments will not begin until reimbursements start in 2011. For more information on implementing Electronic Medical Records, Practice Management Systems or Practice Revenue Management please contact Azalea Health’s Sales and Marketing Department at (877) 777-7686 ext 14 or email at info@azaleahealth.com.
